Job Title: Carpentry Technician

Job Description

We are searching for skilled carpenters, concrete workers, and steel erectors for various commercial projects within a 60-mile radius of Ames, IA. We are a general contractor specializing in jobs ranging from $1mil-$15mil, which include work at ISU with remodels and new buildings. As a Carpentry Technician, you will perform a variety of construction tasks such as demolition work, earthwork and excavations, concrete placement and finishing, layout preparation, framework erection for structures, ceiling and wall installation, welding, and signaling operators. If you possess a specific skill set, we will strive to allocate tasks that best suit your expertise. However, we require candidates to be open to performing various tasks on a job site.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Ames, Iowa.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site, contract-to-hire position in Ames, Iowa with a duration of 6 months. You'll be working in a commercial construction environment, in teams of 3-10 people. Our normal hours are from 7am-4pm M-F, although this may vary throughout the season and day. The dress code is boots, jeans, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. For certain projects, you may have to travel to locations such as Ames, Des Moines, or Huxley, IA. If you live close to the Ames shop, you will be able to ride in a company van with other team members.
