ZIEGLER INC Master Electrician in ALTOONA, Iowa

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Master Electrician who installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. The Master Electrician will also ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant codes.Responsibilities:Installs, repairs, and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulationsInstalls new electrical service / Install electrical panels, switchgearDirects and trains workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesStudies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installationsUses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lampsDiagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemAssembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power toolsAssists or leads electrical projects of larger scope such as new construction installsPerforms preventive maintenance on transformers and switchgear as well as preventive building maintenance including but not limited to building HVAC systems, plumbing repairs, exterior building repairs and cement replacementsPulls necessary electrical permitsAssists or leads electrical projects of larger scope such as new construction installsQualifications:High school degree required, Associate's degree preferredElectricians license required3-5 years electrical experience strongly preferredSafety knowledge of electrical jobs requiredKnowledge of a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment; measuring devices; power tools; and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lampsAvailable for on-call emergenciesClean driving record required, Class A or B license a plusHighly motivated and hard workerTeam-player attitude and willing to help on whatever task is neededTravel:Up to 50% travelMinimum Physical Requirements:Push/pull up to 25 lbsLift up to 75 lbsWaist level carry up to 30 lbsStanding, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, bolt box.Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor.
