Location: District 1 Office, Ames, IA What you will do as the District 1 Land Surveyor:The Land Surveyor leads the daily work activities of the Survey Party Chief and the Highway Technician. The position is the lead worker and certifies that all survey work is performed to standards required in the Iowa Code 114A.11. Duties include leading the field survey crew; research of survey and land records contained in county courthouses, city offices and private engineering and land surveying firms; performing calculations to determine survey accuracy and X, Y coordinate values of survey points; preparation of United State public land corner certificates as required in Iowa Code, Chapter 114A.11. Directs and prepares acquisition plats and signs and certifies said plats.Your team consists of:

What you'll need:
Specific skills and knowledge in land and engineering field survey procedures and electronic data collection techniques is necessary.
Leadership skills in the coordination of the work activities of the survey crew, directing the training of subordinates. Provide support to the statewide survey school sponsored by the Iowa DOT for resident construction and county survey personnel.
Provide technical support and information for external and internal customers.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Non-commercial Driver's License.
Must possess and maintain a valid Land Surveyor's license issued by the Iowa Board of Engineering and Land Surveying.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
