Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Iowa State University Facilities Planning and Management is seeking applicants to install and maintain plumbing equipment in campus buildings and ISU outlying farms. Make plumbing connections on all types of laboratory equipment, such as stills, autoclaves, electron microscopes, cage washers, fume hoods, air handling units, etc. Install and maintain complete plumbing systems on ISU outlying farms, including well pumps, sump pumps, irrigation systems and sewage treatment systems such as lagoons, septic tanks, and total confinement.

The ideal candidate will have journeyman level knowledge of installation and maintenance of complete plumbing system. Must be able to communicate well with others and work well within a unit and be capable of using all hand and power tools required of a plumber.

Required Qualifications

Four years experience in the trade, including apprenticeship.
