Anamosa Iowa sits upon the junction of Buffalo Creek and Wapsipinicon River. Wapsipinicon State Park hosts in Anamosa as one of Iowa’s oldest state parks. It is located on the southwest end of Anamosa. The state park offers camping, fishing, golfing, and hiking. Anamosa was named as the Pumpkin Capital of Iowa by the Iowa State Legislature in 1993. The town got its name due to hosting a Pumpkinfest, a pumpkin festival and weigh-off, every year in October. The National Motorcycle Museum is a unique place to check out any time of year. They have a display of over 450 motorcycles; while some are the collection of memorabilia. Check out their gift shop as well!

Electrician:
Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and lighting systems to include breaker panels, motor controls, transformers, cable systems, and control systems. Perform maintenance on battery powered emergency lights, fan motors and dietary and laundry equipment. Supervise a small crew of incarcerated individuals teaching basic electrical skills.
Must currently possess or be able to obtain a State of Iowa Master Electrician’s License.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Three years of full-time work experience in skilled electrical work in the construction or repair of residential or commercial buildings.
Successful completion of a standard electrician program at an accredited trade school.
A total of three years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where one semester of an approved trade school electrician program is equivalent to six months of full-time experience.
Successful completion of three years of an approved electrician apprenticeship program.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as a Trades Helper which involved electrical duties.

Additional Qualification Requirements
Within a timeframe determined by the appointing authority, persons in this class may be required to obtain a license to perform electrical work in accordance with Iowa Code Chapter 103.
Designated positions in this class require possession of a valid Commercial Learner's Permit upon hire. Within a timeframe determined by the appointing authority, a valid Commercial Driver's License with the required endorsements and applicable restrictions must be obtained and subsequently maintained to continue employment.
