Mrs Clark’s Foods Warehouse/Forklift Operator- 1st and 3rd shift in Ankeny, Iowa


Great opportunity for a permanent position at a local food manufacturer!

The Warehouse/Forklift Operator is responsible for the proper movement of materials throughout the plant operating a pallet jack, forklift, and RF scanner. The position’s top priority is to support production by accurately transferring raw materials to the lines, receiving finished goods to storage, as well as loading and unloading trucks. This is a full-time, 1ST and 3rd shift, non-exempt position that reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates forklift to Unload, Transfer, Store, and Load raw materials and finished goods

  • Utilizes RF scanner to Receive, Allocate, and Transfer items to and from purchase orders, shop orders, and customer orders as directed

  • Accurately documents work performed and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP)

  • Unloads bulk tankers outside – attaching hoses, valves, pumps, screens, and climbing ladders

  • Works with warehouse team to ensure product is unloaded, picked, and loaded on time and with proper procedures to complete each day’s dock appointments

  • Reports any errors or problems immediately and effectively

  • Adheres to quality, cleanliness, and safety standards

  • Other duties and projects as assigned


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

  • Forklift experience/training preferred but will train the right candidate!

  • Ability to learn and utilize inventory tracking scanners/software

  • Ability to read and write English

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos

  • Must be detail oriented and a quick learner

  • Ability to work within deadlines

  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, good cooperative skills

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse or retail work experience preferred

  • Computation: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers

  • Reasoning: Ability to understand flow of materials through a production and warehouse facility, both physically and in the system, and the impacts from any deviation of procedure. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations

  • May require flexibility in scheduling


  • $14.50/hour starting wage plus differential for 3rd shift position

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work both outside a plant facility and inside a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to changing temperatures (hot, cold, humid) moving mechanical parts, vehicles, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
