Terracon Environmental Project Manager in Bettendorf, Iowa
Terracon’s Bettendorf, IA office is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join theTeam! Our Bettendorf office has a diverse client base in both public and private sectors working with commercial, industrial, government, property development, and institutional market entities. As a Project Manager, you will lead teams of multi-disciplined environmental professionals in the design and implementation of environmental projects including tasks such as: Phase I and II environmental site assessments, tank closure assessments, asbestos abatement, storm water management, and site planning and permitting. This position will report directly to the Environmental Department Manager and will work closely with the Department’s staff in a mentorship and leadership capacity. The optimal candidate should also be a highly motivated seller-doer by planning for, and participating in, client development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build and maintain strong client relationships.
Day to day, you will be responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan. Responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and coordinates with all internal and external project stakeholders, subcontractors, and/or contractors. Conducts meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project to project team and client. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Communicate with the client and deliver work products to satisfaction of client.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Plans, gather resources, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projects including quality control review of proposals written by others.
Coordinates with Approved Project Reviewers to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and ensure adequate time for reviews of all critical junctures.
Coordinates with accounting for financial management of business intelligence and invoicing
Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Familiarize with company risk policies.
Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science Geology, or related technical field
Minimum 5-8 years’ experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed
Project Management Professional (PMP)
