Terracon Project Manager in Bettendorf, Iowa
Terracon is looking for an Environmental Project Manager for our Bettendorf, Iowa (Quad Cities) office to manage and oversee Phase II site investigation, vapor mitigation, and remedial action projects. Terracon provides professional environmental consulting services to government/ municipalities, commercial developers, law firms, financial institutions, architect/engineer and construction (A/E/C), healthcare, and commercial/industrial clients. This position will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating field consulting services, developing analytical plans, and formulating recommendations for projects varying in size and complexity. In this position the candidate must be able to identify, evaluate and recommend additional action, as necessary, in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. The candidate must be adept at interpreting and applying technical concepts of site investigation, remediation, and risk-based closure. The candidate must be well capable in preparing technical documents including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and promote team function with environmental staff and management to meet project objectives ranging in complexity
Understand and implement technical requirements to complete projects
Possess strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Interpret and evaluate laboratory/field data and coherently synthesize into written reports
Serve as an inter-disciplinary team member in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks
Mentor, supervise, and oversee staff/field environmental scientists.
Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection with ability to collect detailed site observations and organized notes
Provide excellent customer service
Lead and participate in Pre-Task Planning
Commit to safety rules, guidelines, and standards for incident and injury free operations
Support and promote a safety culture
Understand and follow project quality and corporate quality standards for all projects
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Biology (or similar) and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years’ related experience
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
Strong organization skills
Strong functional and mechanical writing skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work well in a team
Intermediate to advanced skills using the Microsoft Office Suite
Professional Certification (i.e. PE, PG)
Master’s degree in a related technical or business field
