Description:

DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Drawings and/or solid models for new and existing products (fire protection equipment/vehicles/machines)

• Dimensional drawings

• Exploded isometric drawings

• Design configuration (DC) drawings

• Matrix parts lists, basic specifications, and data sheets

• Engineering data base records

Will be making edits to existing designs for custom production of off-the-shelf products with certain custom applications.

Will create manufacturing 2D prints for new models.

CAD Responsibilities:

• Interpreting project briefs and meeting with inside sales engineers, to ensure all blueprints and technical drawings are completed to specifications.

• Producing rough sketches and using CAD software to prepare detailed drawings, plans, and blueprints.

• Updating software, drawings, and other documents.

• Remaining professional when feedback is delivered, and implementing any changes to drafts as soon as possible.

• Communicating potential design issues to inside sales engineers.

• Conducting research when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE

• Associate Degree in Drafting and Design

• Mechanical / Automotive background preferred

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Thorough knowledge of drafting standards.

• Thorough knowledge of engineering CAD systems.

• SolidWorks experience a plus
