Garcia Roofing, LLC is looking to fill Roofing Helper/Laborer positions. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position and we are looking to fill 5 job openings for employment from April 1, 2025 to December 15, 2025. The work will be done in the following counties in the state of Iowa: Des Moines, Lee,

Henry, Louisa.

Duties: We are seeking Roofing Helpers to join our team to assist skilled roofers in the installation, repair, and replacement of roofing systems on residential and commercial structures. Support the application of various roofing materials including shingles, slate, asphalt, and metal. Aid in waterproofing and insulation tasks. Help with roof inspections, surface preparation, and ensure proper handling of roofing components. Work involves physical labor, basic use of hand tools, and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: Assist skilled roofers in all aspects of roofing work. Help carry and distribute roofing materials to work areas. Support the application of roofing materials as directed. Aid in preparing roof surfaces and installing underlayment. Assist with clean-up and disposal of old roofing materials. Set up and maintain ladders and scaffolding safely. Operate basic hand tools under supervision. Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment at all times. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Climb ladders and work at heights. Stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods. Work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, wet). Perform repetitive movements and use hands for manual tasks. Work Environment: Outdoor work in all weather conditions. Exposure to heights, noise, and potential hazards. May involve working in confined spaces. Requires wearing protective equipment. On-the-job training provided.

Requirements: No formal education or prior roofing experience required.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

$20.33/hr, Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm and be available to work Saturdays-Sundays if needed, overtime is $30.50/hr. Our work day starts at 7:00am and typically goes until 4:00pm. The workers must be available for 10-hour shifts as needed.

Basic Wage Rates above $20.33 will require past experience at Garcia Roofing, LLC and more responsibilities.

Employer provides on-job-training in the proper use and maintenance of power tools and equipment. Workers needed to begin work 4/1/25-12/15/25.

Transportation: From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and, to the extent necessary lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of work.

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts.

Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

Tools, equipment and supplies: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

Miscellaneous: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay by-weekly by check. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law. The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in th first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. Daily transportation to and from the worksite will be provided at no charge to the workers.
