Become part of the growing Avionics FPGA/ASIC team. This position is for a highly experienced and motivated Electrical (or Computer) Subject Matter Expert that will be involved in the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital systems that incorporate FPGAs and ASICs into a product solution. As an engineer in this organization, you will be employing best practice design methodologies supporting our next generation of Avionics Products, in addition to numerous products enterprise-wide.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Defining architecture for Video and Image processing devices to meet system’s requirements.

  • Recommend and lead functional strategies to advance the Complex Hardware discipline and products.

  • Understand product certification requirements and establish DO-254 planning documents for development projects.

  • Requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability.

  • ASIC/FPGA digital design and/or verification.

  • RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.

  • ASIC/FPGA verification using inspection, analysis, simulation, and test methods.

  • May create UVM constrained random environments using SystemVerilog.

  • Create device placement and timing constraints.

  • Perform device synthesis, place and route.

  • Perform static timing analysis, linting analysis, and clock-domain-crossing analysis.

  • Creation of DO-254 DAL-A certification artifacts for Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH).

  • Conduct and/or participate in peer reviews throughout product lifecycle.

  • Lead a project through certification reviews with customers and/or authorities.

  • Communicate with a wide variety of individuals including Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership and customers.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with Video and Image processing FPGA or ASIC developments.

  • Experience leading technical projects including customer interaction, and briefing leadership.

  • Experience with DO-254 design assurance activities for FPGA and ASIC developments.

  • Strong communicator, able to interface within the wide spectrum of individual contributors to program management and customers.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively document and present one’s work and status

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international <10%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux/Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl.

  • Experience writing RTL and/or testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.

  • Experience using FPGA simulation and vendor specific tools (e.g. Questasim, Vivado, Libero, etc.).

  • Familiar with best practice chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g. constrained random, functional coverage, code coverage, LEC, SystemVerilog).

  • Familiar with UVM or similar Constrained Random Methodology.

  • Familiar with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Subversion, JIRA).

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
