Electrical Engineer - Air Combat Training

Summary:

The Mission Platform Products team develops state-of-the-art products for air platform training and autonomy, including cryptographic, datalink, networking, and command and control applications. We are responsible for product line and engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of the training and autonomy products, maturing products from concept phase through accreditation and factory production.

Our Autonomy and Training Product Team is looking for a candidate having a background in electrical engineering such as RF, analog, and digital. This is an individual contributor role in which the engineer is part of a cohesive team of engineers responsible for supporting full product line lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met

  • Troubleshoots electrical devices problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently

  • Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption

  • Participates in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications

  • Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks

  • Completes drawing designs as required to facilitate the engineering process

  • Confers with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products

  • Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components

  • Participates in design and requirements reviews as the hardware subject matter expert

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A digital design background with some RF experience

  • Experience in GPS receiver design

  • Accountability and leadership qualities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask small and large projects

  • Desire to work in a multi-discipline team environment

  • Experience with configuration management tools and processes

  • Motivated self-starter with good analytical skills
