Raytheon Technologies Engineering Manager (Onsite)(Up to 30K Signing Bonus) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

This position is for a highly motivated team leader of 12+ multi-disciplinary engineers whose charter is to design, develop, test, and deploy mission critical weapon systems for the United States Navy and Air Force. This position is to lead a team focused on developing engineering solutions for defense and military Command and Control (C2) and Command, Control and Communications (C3) systems architectures, in order to enable advanced capabilities of modern day and future weapons systems.

Signing bonuses of up to $30,000 are available for active security clearance holders.*

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project leadership over the entire development life cycle including bids, project management, design, requirements capture, coding, integration, verification, and certification

  • Provide technical leadership and accountability for team and project performance

  • Demonstrate a passion for coaching and mentoring

  • Possess engineering skills, critical and innovative thinking, strategic planning, and an ability to build and motivate a team

  • Identify, recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent across the spectrum of entry-level to highly experienced engineers

  • Build and leverage networks within the department and within Collins Aerospace

  • Communicate well with a wide variety of individuals including Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and customers

  • Leverage advanced principles, theories, and concepts of complex technical subjects to provide direction for direct reports

  • Ensures compliance to development processes and standard work requirements

  • Strives to spend time performing technical tasks and oversight while also spending time on people management, schedules and/or budgets

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • US Citizenship

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  • Practical experience in all phases of pursuit, development, integration and test

  • Previous Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead or Project Engineering experience

  • Engineering development experience (minimum 5-7 years)

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in development of engineering solutions to support military ground or airborne platforms

  • Direct experience in the development of bid and proposal efforts

  • Experience/knowledge of communications systems
