We are currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide a combination of engineering leadership & design in the development of state-of-the-art products and with Pursuit and Order Capture within the IMSE Product Line business area.

Principal Electrical Engineer - Mission Hardware Sign-on Bonus up to $40k (Hybrid)

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Job Summary:

The Mission Hardware team is seeking a determined and passionate Pr. Electrical Engineer to help us quickly solve complex problems and lead teams through product lifecycle tasks, such as bids, requirements capture, design and development, integration and qualification testing, and manufacturing transition of projects for both Unmanned Airborne Systems and all sizes of Mission Computing products and applications. The selected candidate must demonstrate a technical understanding of electrical engineering principles and the business acumen for cost, schedule, risk & opportunity management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge to support products at all phases of the product lifecycle (design & development, transition to production, factory support, service support)

  • Obsolescence resolution

  • Requirements capture management and verification

  • Review product designs and engineering documentation

  • Prepare and present project technical information to peers and internal/external customers

  • Identifies and addresses project problems (Root Cause) and recommends resolutions (Corrective Actions) to ensure the successful completion of projects

  • Design tools experience with requirements capture, schematic capture, signal integrity and timing analysis (ex. DxDesigner, DOORS, and Hyperlynx) with digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs for military platforms

  • Design hardware to meet rigorous military requirements for environment, functionality, price, and Size Weight and Power (SWaP)

  • Experience with Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, USB, LVDS, Fiber Optic, and SERDES bus technologies

  • Printer Wiring Board layout experience

  • Facilitates project tasks between cross-functional integrated product teams to ensure alignment with overall project objectives

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and independently on assigned tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a technical lead for a team in the design, test, analysis, integration, qualification, and documentation of hardware of high complexity

  • Testing experience in DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461

  • Project leadership experience

  • Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
