The Engine Indication and Crew Alerting (EICAS) / Electronic Checklist (ECL) groups at Collins Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer/Technical Program Manager (PE/TPM). This person will be the primary engineering point of contact for the Value Stream Leader (VSL), EICAS/ECL cognizant engineering managers, and Avionics Applications Department Head. The PE/TPM will work closely with project PE’s and managers that are cognizant of both B&RA and MA&H EICAS and ECL projects, to enable alignment with the domain Value Stream Leaders (VSL’s) for assuring projects remain on budget and schedule. In event of resource conflicts, the PE/TPM will work with the VSL’s to determine project and resource prioritization.
This is an onsite role based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Relocation maybe available.
Job Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining an integrated master schedule for all EICAS and ECL active projects
Developing and maintaining bid guidance and refreshing basis of estimates periodically
Primary owner of the staffing vs demand for EICAS/ECL
Mentoring/training of the Project Engineers assigned to individual projects
Owner of the risk and opportunity register and plans
Prepare presentations and present program status, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, etc. at regularly scheduled program reviews
A strong communicator with others, both written and verbal
Experience and ability to effectively use Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, and Excel
Demonstrate self-starter personality traits as well as the ability to work autonomously
Experience in the areas of EVM, CAM, Change Management, and Risk Management
Knowledge of Engineering processes and tools, and the ability to manage complex, organizationally matrixed projects
Ensuring retrospective actions/lessons learned and training are incorporated into program plans
Leading the transition plan to new architecture development
Leading dev-cert-ops transition plan
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace experience
Working knowledge of project schedules (IMS), Month end reconciliation activities
DO-178C certification knowledge
