This requisition is for a Project Manager on the Site Project and Execution Team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The person hired for this position will apply advanced project management concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations to achieve site goals. The overarching roles and responsibilities skills of this position are improving quality, reducing costs, and improving the flow of product with an emphasis on standard work. This position will provide the opportunity for working in a team environment of manufacturing engineers, production personnel, management, and other support organizations.
This position will be performed onsite at our Collins location in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities for this position will be primarily site level project management and providing guidance and support to teams needing additional production management support. This job will focus primarily on these areas:
Lead and support projects that have site level impact with an emphasis on long-term sustainment
Delivery of complex engineering projects to time and cost
High level of customer focus - Take time to understand stakeholder requirements, effectively plan and execute to meet these requirements
Customer key point of contact at working level for all items associated with project scope
Drive milestone achievements to realize full potential of project plans (including SPI, CPI, risk and opportunity management)
Project reporting and accountability for financial performance
Responsible for all project outcomes associated with work scope covering but not limited to cost, schedule and quality
Responsible administration of all project activities including but not limited to: schedule management, cadence reviews, cost benefit tracking at project level, risk reviews, sustainment plans, and ensuring all gate reviews are effectively completed in a timely manner
Managing and building effective internal and external relationships
Support others to achieve continuous learning and self-development
Develop plans that are aligned with corporate policies and budgets
Use effective communications to persuade and convince stakeholders to reach consensus in challenging situations, encouraging a culture of compliance
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience leading teams and viewed as subject-matter expert within discipline
Experience with Project Management acumen and tools
Prior Aerospace or manufacturing experience
Project Management qualifications would be advantageous- PMI/APM or equivalent
Prosci Certified and able to apply change management techniques and tools when needed
Microsoft Power BI/Power Automate/Power Apps
Proficient in Microsoft Project
Willingness and ability to build relationships and work well within teams, as well as work autonomously and be creative and innovative in project approaches.
