Join our dynamic Test Engineering team within the Mission Systems Field Engineering department is seeking to fill a Radio Communications Test Engineer - Field Service Representative! This individual who will be part of a team focused on the development, integration, test, and maintenance of Radio communication test station equipment.

In this role, you will diagnose and test radio communication components using the software style, development language, schematics and integrated development environment specified by the organization. This individual may have responsibilities across multiple teams in the department.

This position provides the opportunity to contribute to multidiscipline engineering teams. Typical work involves the development of both engineering and production test equipment, environments, and systems. As such, you will contribute to the completion of all stages of test station product. You will be expected to act, either as a part of their team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test systems.

This position will work onsite for approximately 3 months in our Cedar Rapids, IA facility and deploy OCONUS (Republic of South Korea) for 18 months.

What You Will Do​

  • Develop and maintain radio communication test equipment and analyze software/hardware for a diagnostic test environment.

  • Support test station efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance for all test software activities.

  • Prioritize, handle, and lead multiple tasks in a production environment.

  • Troubleshooting software and hardware for test equipment development

  • Communication with an engineering team, functional team, and program leadership

  • Coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules.

  • Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management, and customers.

  • Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Strong computer skills and experience with software developer (Python) and Hardware Debug.

  • Experience with diagnostic of radio communication, components testing and reading wiring schematics.

  • Must have experience supporting automated test stations or systems.

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance prior to start date ​

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer​

  • Strong technical writing skills and an ability to collaborate with a cross functional team of professionals.

  • Ability to interface ATE test software with laboratory and production tests instrumentation such as but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and/or direct current power supplies.

  • Experience with Structured query language (SQL) programming language for storing and processing information in a relational database.

  • Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)

  • Design and implement activities required to deploy the project test solutions to world-wide destinations.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
