Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center is seeking engineering talent with expertise in RF/microwave, RFIC design, and PA product development. When you join our team in Cedar Rapids, you’ll join a uniquely collaborative, multi-discipline engineering community who support each other working across our domestic design centers creating cutting edge products for global markets. You’ll be paired with a mentor to help support you as an integral part of a team responsible for designing custom parts. You will be part of a multi-discipline team developing PA, RF switches, front-end modules for the high volume and fast paced cellular handset market. You will have opportunities to participate in all phases of product development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design, MCM design, layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support.

Direct involvement in development of advanced cellular RF Front End Module (FEM) design and evaluation
Own and lead lab experiments to identify root cause of RF/Functionality related FEM performance issue
Work closely with a team of EM Design Engineers, Lab Technicians, Verification Engineers, Test Engineers and Package Engineers to tackle complex cellular RF front end problems
Prepare prototype build/assembly documentations such as Bill of Material (BOM), configuration matrices etc. for prototype build
Implement lab test and summarize/analysis lab result of RF Front end module
Present lab result, root cause analysis to broader audience and drive for best possible performance of RF Front End Module
Experience in PA, RF switches design or multi-chip module (MCM) design including filter and matching networks to support fully integrated front end module designs
Hands on experience in MCM artwork, EM simulation and lab debug and tuning
Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum, Sonnet or HFSS
Solid understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability
Strong lab skills in RF debug and product characterization
A self- starter and team player with strong desire to learn on the job
Strong desire and commitment to take product from concept to volume production
Good communication skills both verbal and written and logic reasoning skills, capable of breaking down complex problems, setting priorities, report progress and execute to schedule
Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with wireless standards including 3GPP cellular 2/3/4/5G/LTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth
Solid understanding of device and process technologies
Experience in system architecture, circuit topology and MCM floorplan
Experience in FEM product development and customer interaction
Good understanding on acoustic filter such as SAW, BAW filters.
Experience in co-sim of multiple technologies such as digital, analog and RF circuit
Familiar with lab instruments including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, RF Probe Stations, Noise Figure Analyzers and Load-pull Tuners
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering + 2 years experience or MSEE
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $73,400 - $132,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
