Superintendent

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates field personnel on a daily basis, and delegates all roles and responsibilities.

  • Manages a large crew.

  • Coordinates and manages the work of subcontractors, and has a proven track record in doing so.

  • Understands labor and material reports and able to accurately analyze the available money and manpower for specific work activities and their associated cost codes.

  • Understands cost codes and is capable of cost coding the weekly payroll.

  • Looks at the big project picture while making decisions and judgments regarding the specific work. Can see how Graham Construction work affects the subcontractors on the projects and makes judgments that reflect what is best for the project.

  • Demonstrates the ability to provide alternatives and encourages creativity amongst fellow workers.

  • Proves consistently the ability to manage money on assigned projects.

  • Possess a strong knowledge of Graham Yard and/or Vendor Rental procedures, material transfers, equipment usages, maintenance of equipment, cost implications, etc.

  • Creates & Maintains detailed 6-week project schedule in Excel format (Requirement: Excel Training Course Completed and/or Proven Ability to Establish/Maintain Schedule).

  • Understands process for creating and help establish Meeting Agenda/Minutes for Foreman Meetings (Project Management Software Competency).

  • Able to read/understand/implement Bid Packages for projects after job is awarded.

  • Performs “1st Installation Verifications” and possesses knowledge of “how to build” project from multiple trade standpoint.

  • Able to review, mark-up, and approve/process submittals/shop drawings (Project Management Software Competency).

  • Able to coordinate and manage multiple subcontractors/trades.

  • Understands how to build in an efficient/effective manner.

  • Ability to contribute to Pull Session durations with multiple trades.

  • Completes Daily Reports on a daily basis (Project Management Software Competency).

  • Able to manage Graham tool and equipment inventory on jobsite.

  • Assists in and contributes to all required jobsite inspections (City/State/AHJ/OSHA).

  • Demonstrates the “Graham Mentality.”

Communication

  • Promotes Graham Construction internally and externally.

  • Able to interact with the entire Project Team (Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors, Inspectors, Vendors, Etc.) who may come to the jobsite to tour the project, discuss problem issues, make request requiring action by Graham Construction. In these interactions, he is perceived by the Project Team as competent and capable.

  • Communicates effectively with entire Project Team (Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors, Inspectors, Vendors, Etc.) on any issues/problems related to the project.

  • Skilled in listening, problem solving, and running effective meetings with the ability to be open-minded.

Safety

  • Promotes a culture of safety at all levels of the organization.

  • Ensures compliance with the company policies, state and federal laws, OSHA, building codes, non-discrimination requirements, etc.

  • Ensures that Pre Construction Risk Assessments are completed and all infection control measures are in place and maintained.

  • Has a strong awareness of safety on the jobsite. Thinks safety in all his work and displays a strong safety attitude with the crew members and subcontractors.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Able to read and understand drawings and specifications. It is important to note that this individual is willing to read the specifications and understand them thoroughly in order to make proper judgments.

  • Performs “1st Installation Verifications” and possesses knowledge of “how to build” project from multiple trade standpoint.

  • Maintains Accurate and Up-to-Date As-Builts in Paper Format.

  • Draftsman Quality – straight edge/legible/accurate.

  • Leads Punchlist efforts (create & complete tasks).

Owner & Customer Relations

  • Able to read and understand drawings and specifications. It is important to note that this individual is willing to read the specifications and understand them thoroughly in order to make proper judgments.

  • Performs “1st Installation Verifications” and possesses knowledge of “how to build” project from multiple trade standpoint.

  • Maintains Accurate and Up-to-Date As-Builts in Paper Format.

  • Draftsman Quality – straight edge/legible/accurate.

  • Leads Punchlist efforts (create & complete tasks).

Staff Leadership

  • Manages and coordinates field personnel on a daily basis, and delegates all roles and responsibilities.

  • Mentors project team.

  • Attends all Superintendent Meetings.

  • Displays a positive attitude toward Graham Construction in all work dealings. This positive attitude is displayed and reflected by his work crew. Subcontractors and suppliers are also aware of the positive attitude displayed.

  • Demonstrates the “Graham Mentality.”

Preconstruction

  • Assists in establishing initial site logistics plan, construction phasing plans, and overall project schedule – Final review by PM and/or Sr. Supt is required.

Professional Development

  • Advances learning through training and education courses to gain greater expertise to achieve job objectives more effectively and efficiently
