Cobham Mission CAD Designer in Davenport, Iowa

Description

Cobham is seeking a CAD Designer to design components, systems, and equipment, (mechanical or electrical) using 3D modeling CAD software. This position is located in Davenport, IA.* *

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creates drawings of parts and assemblies.
  • Selects hardware and other standard components for new designs.
  • With some oversight, assigns tolerance of specific parts per prescribed standards.
  • Participates in design review as necessary.
  • Writes engineering change orders to improve designs.
  • Converts other drawing formats in Pro-E or AutoCAD software format.
  • Researches parts and components to ensure accuracy.
  • Designs products using Tolerance Analysis software.
  • Uses computer to accomplish responsibilities.
  • Performs all operations according to prescribed safety principles.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s Degree.
  • 2+ years 3D solid modeling experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Creo (formerly Pro-Engineer).
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience with the application of ASME Y14.5 GD&T; methods.
  • Ability to design complex mechanical devices.
  • Knowledge in configuration management.
  • Experience or thorough knowledge in Product Data Management (PDM).
