Through continued modernization, including a $500 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world's premier aerospace supply plant and is today the hub of Alcoa's $3 billion aerospace business.The Staff Electrical Engineer will provide support and leadership to the Coil Finishing manufacturing and process areas. In this role, you will lead process improvement efforts slitters, tension level lines, continuous thermal lines, and continuous coating/chemical lines to improve equipment operation, product recovery, meeting customer specifications, and support product development.Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Support the operations and maintenance of the coil sheet lines to ensure equipment has proper maintenance plans to repetitively meet product specificationsSupport the operations and maintenance of the coil sheet lines to ensure operations has proper work instructions to repetitively meet product specificationsAdvise/counsel/lead failure analysis; participate in and lead problem solving teams, identification of root cause and solutions and organize support from other resourcesUtilize technical knowledge-base and provide advanced technical guidance to ensure there is a thorough understanding of equipment and its effect on process and product qualityProvide technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problemsMaintain excellent working relationship with internal customers (such as: corporate technical resources, leadership teams, production, quality and maintenance resources) and external suppliers to ensure process improvement needs are understood and met Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institutionMinimum five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentBasic understanding of web handling and slitting; tension control, trimming, slitting, winding, wrinkling, web breaks, steering/guidingEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
