Aerotek Civil Engineering Technician in Des Moines, Iowa


Seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join growing team in the Des Moines, IA office. We are a full service engineering and architecture firm that provides design services to a wide variety of industries: Drainage tech, hog barns, road reconstruction, commercial, industrial, etc. Will see a lot of municipal projects.

Responsibilities of the Civil Technician include:

  • Prepare drawings, documents, details, schedules or specifications using programs such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and ArcGIS.

  • Prepare construction documents and records.

  • Operate copy, blueprint, and duplication and computer equipment.

  • Observes and inspects work performed by contractors ensuring compliance of specs, drawings, code, and safety.

  • Inspect construction sites for quality and report any variances.

  • Interface with contractors, clients and other ISG team members in a positive & professional manner.

  • Determine inspection and testing requirements for the task and perform tests and inspections in a timely manner.

  • Assist survey technicians in survey fieldwork.

  • Subscribe to our goals and objectives, including geographic and project-type diversity.

  • Become a complementary member of our team as a whole, and on a project-by-project basis.

  • Work on several projects at one time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree: Civil Eng. Technology program

  • 1+ year AutoCAD or Revit

  • 1+ year Civil3D OR Arc View GIS

  • 1+ year experience operating copy, blueprint, and duplication and computer equipment

  • 6+ months survey field work (know basics)
