Oracle Data Center Consulting Engineer - Electrical in Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description

As a successful critical environment Electrical Engineer

  • Understand the design and functionality of your datacenter.

  • Management of the ongoing critical environment maintenance support for all service lines to pre-defined SLAs. This is to ensure service uptime is maintained to the highest standards and that faults are dealt with in timely manner.

  • Management of incidents that impact OCI services and the proactive and timely resolution of such incidents.

  • Work with design, construction, and commissioning teams to properly integrate the new electrical distribution systems to existing data center

  • Support and validate on-site datacenters operations in relation to the electrical infrastructure.

  • Be an electrical SME for on-site operations related to mission critical electrical system, operations, and functionality.

  • Act as the technical authority for on-site operations related to a large-scale mission critical electrical system, design, and functionality.

  • Empower operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • BS Electrical, Industrial or Process Engineering

  • 7+ years of experience in defining, designing, and operating data center critical infrastructure

  • Demonstrated record of innovation and influence with the data center space

  • Demonstrated record of successful process definition and systems architecture

  • Demonstrated record of successful infrastructure roadmap planning

  • Deep understanding of data center electrical systems architecture

Although NOT required, OCI is also looking for the following preferred qualifications

  • Strong experience with the operation and maintenance of building electrical systems. (electrical distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, and controls systems)

  • Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application via maintenance and operation of critical electrical equipment (paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of distributed and block redundant electrical distribution architecture

  • Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (ability to interpret blueprints, electrical SLDs, mechanical SLDs and construction drawings)

  • Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls, and frameworks

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)

California Pay Range: from $109,600 to $225,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Colorado Pay Range: from $99,400 to $202,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

New York City Pay Range: from $103,500 to $214,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Washington Pay Range: from $115,700 to $214,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
