Job Description

Intel Estimating is developing an integrated estimating capability to enable high velocity, early-stage estimating for global wafer fab construction. We are a seeking an idealistic construction-experienced Estimating Data Steward who shares our vision of digitally transforming the way we estimate, and who is eager to become the go-to expert for Intel Estimating for anything within the realm of estimating data.

The Estimating Data Steward will partner closely with the Technical Estimating group to recommend and/or support estimating data conditioning standards and requirements both to improve data quality and to drive consistency in how we manage and utilize estimating data, both within the larger Estimating org and across the Fab Construction Enterprise (FCE).

The Estimating Data Steward will be a key part of and work closely with the rest of Estimating Data and Systems team to deliver on Estimating's overall data integrity and digital transformation initiatives. The role will also partner with FCE's Data and Information Systems team members to ensure cross-functional integration.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Define, document, and maintain estimating data quality standards, policies, and procedures (data definitions, data formats, data storage, data access/controls, etc.). Train users on standards and policies, and conduct audits as necessary to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and data security.

  • Work proactively with Estimating and FCE group partners to understand data required now and in the future to support business needs of a complex global construction roadmap.

  • Assure quality and build trust in estimating data; support and drive data governance by ensuring data policies and standards are turned into practice.

  • Develop, implement, and manage data gathering and analysis processes including indicators and reports; includes driving standardization across Estimating, and where necessary, across FCE.

  • Assess and analyze all data system collections and fitness for purpose; recommend and implement improvements.

  • Bring estimating data expertise to FCE business partner interactions and development initiatives, provide guidance and support on requirements gathering and data design to partner domains.

  • Ensure all data quality deliverables are completed in support of data initiatives and projects; ensuring program designs meet data quality and storage standards.

  • Provide data analysis to assigned critical Estimating group priorities.

  • Participate in external data-centric org forums, as required, to advocate and provide thought leadership for data best practices and technology within and on behalf of Intel Estimating.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Data Science or related technical field

  • 5+ years' experience in a construction estimating data-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semi-conductor/wafer fabrication facility systems and construction environments.

  • Experience with construction estimating terminology and rules of measurement; and various estimating systems and cost databases.

  • Familiarity with and knowledge of VDC/BIM and 3D design modelling; including quantity extraction methods

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
