Two Rivers Emergency Management, LLC Exercise Contractor in Des Moines, Iowa

Two Rivers Emergency Management is an emergency management consulting and contracting firm for the private and public sectors. We are looking to add additional emergency management Exercise Contractors to our database of available contracted professionals. We are looking for contractors that are open to innovation, can adapt to change, are teamwork driven, and the ability to articulate emergency management concepts into verbal and written formats.

Potential Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance in the development of HSEEP-compliant documents

  • Facilitate exercise planning meetings either in-person or virtually

  • Facilitate or fulfill roles associated with exercise play

  • Prepare reports on grant-funded activities

  • Brief senior and elected officials

  • Prepare presentations

  • Lead, coordinate, or participate in multi-disciplinary groups, activities, and meetings

  • Draft letters, memorandums, and policy recommendations

  • Analyze documentation for identification of improvement areas

  • Perform other tasked duties

These tasks primarily work remotely however, there may be opportunities/needs for on-site visits with clients.

Required Skills

  • General knowledge of Federal, State, and local governmental organizational structures and relationships

  • Ability to effectively organize work, determine priorities, establish and monitor timelines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision

  • Ability to effectively access and utilize computerized systems and equipment to complete assigned tasks, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; and other systems/programs needed

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with TREM staff, professional peers, the general public, and the ability to effectively work as a team and on individual tasks

  • Strong and effective spoken and written (English) communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to groups in a variety of venues

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management, urban planning, public administration, or other related programs

  • Demonstrated experience in Emergency Management

  • Possession of a valid driver's license

  • At a minimum, the following FEMA courses, IS-100, IS-120, IS-130, IS-139 IS-200, IS-700, IS-800, and L-146

Preferences

  • Security Clearance

  • Master's Degree

  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish

  • Master Exercise Practitioner certification

  • Professional Development Series

  • FEMA ICS 300, 400

  • FEMA IS-331

  • EOC or incident/event operations experience

  • Healthcare (Hospital/Public Health) experience

  • Law Enforcement experience

  • Fire Department experience

  • EMS experience
