Volt is seeking forklift operators for a client in the Des Moines area.
These individuals must be self-motivated, take personal pride in their work, safety minded and deliver safe, consistent and high quality services at all times.
The Forklift Operator uses stand up reach trucks or sit-down forklifts to move product in a warehouse setting. The candidate will unload and load customer products, scan products, and place it accurately in the warehouse or on trucks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs all duties and responsibilities with safety in mind at all times.
Completes daily forklift maintenance/check sheet.
Positions forks transports load to designated area.
Unloads and stacks material from racks, trucks or dock.
Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
Weighs materials and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
Loads and/or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
Maintains equipment, clean and in good working condition.
Maintains clean work environment.
Uses RF Scanners to identify product, check for accuracy and placement.
18 years or older
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Ability to use basic mathematical skills
Available to work occasional to frequent overtime
Ability to read and take direction in English
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be capable of becoming certified to operate equipment
Must be willing and able to frequently stand, walk, crawl, climb, push, pull, kneel, bend and reach
Fast paced work environment with, in and around industrial machinery.
Cold storage environment.
Ability to withstand cold storage temps for extended periods of time (warm gear provided by company).
Noise level varies and at times and can be loud.
