Iowa Employer Forklift Operator in DES MOINES, Iowa
SUMMARY:Under general supervision, performs various tasks associated with the movement of product, raw materials and other commodities in the plant. Performs work in a safe and responsible manner by following all safety rules and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Safely Loads/unloads trucks received at dock and completes related reports, and shipping and receiving documents and/or retrieves and deliveries packaged and in-process products and finished materials to and from warehouse by operating a forklift. Production Forklift drivers would deliver product/materials to appropriate department and return Finished Goods to the warehouse.Completes forklift inspection reports daily and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other related equipment.Adheres to ALL equipment safety expectations and also has a focus on plant wide safety needs as they move about the location. Assist in physical inventory counts and other related inventory duties.Completes housekeeping tasks in warehouse including maintaining work areas in an orderly fashion keeping isles and exits open at all times.Maintains a clean work environment both inside and outside the facility by using good housekeeping habits.Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.Reliable and regular attendance is expected.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
