Landscape Architect Co-Op
Bolton & Menk, Inc.is seeking qualified Landscape Architecture students interested in pursuing aLandscape Architecture Co-Opposition in key Iowa and/or Minnesota offices (Ames, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Burnsville, and Golden Valley). This is a paid co-op, offering a full-time work schedule for the 2023 Spring semester and proceeding summer. Under the direction of a licensed Landscape Architect, this co-op is intended to give a student an opportunity to see how urban planning and design consulting projects come to life, while gaining skills valuable to one’s future professional career.
TheLandscape Architecture Co-Opwill work with a team of licensed and graduate level Landscape Architects, Civil Engineers, Planners, and other Technicians to assist with the development and completion of landscape architecture projects:
Provide graphics support and development (hand graphics and computer generated)
Perform CAD layout and design
Research and prepare rough drafts of master plan reports and studies
Assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications
Assist with cost and quantity take-off estimates
Travel periodically to work sites and other project related locations for quality control reviews
Relocation and housing are not included.
Selected candidates will be enrolled in a Landscape Architecture degree program from an accredited college
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.8. Desired GPA 3.2.
Current Status: 4th year student preferred
Students must have the ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.
Students must possess a valid driver’s license and their own transportation. Students will be reimbursed for business-related travel.
Students must have the ability to read, speak and write English clearly as this position interacts with City staff, City residents, contractors and sub-contractors.
