Meta is seeking an experienced Site Launch Lead Construction Manager to join our Datacenter Engineering & Construction Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building, operating and retrofitting data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The Datacenter Engineering and Construction (DEC) team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure, and the Delivery Construction team is committed to continual optimization of the delivery process at each level. The Infrastructure Data Center organization and its sub teams operate in a matrix team structure and the Site Launch Construction Manager will have the campus level responsibility for New Construction project launch success, GC and trade partner relationships, site culture, team member development and relationship management with key cross functional operational partners (Facilities Operations, Global Datacenter Connectivity, and Facilities Engineering to name a few) at the site in a culture of collaboration, safety and quality unparalleled in the datacenter construction industry. The Site Launch Construction Manager is responsible for $1Million- $1.5Billion project sizes managing a team of 2-3 direct reports and leading a team of matrixed Safety, QAQC and Project Controls (Cost + Schedule) professionals at site toward predictable outcomes.

NA Site Launch Construction Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Report to Facebook Geographical Construction Manager, accountable for project and campus success in: Safety, Quality, Schedule Milestones, Forecast Accuracy, & GMP Accuracy

  2. Assume accountability for Delivery’s culture of partnership, teamwork and growth at the campus in the launch phase of a project

  3. Represent Delivery in the Circle of Leadership at each campus and partner effectively to become a high performing team

  4. Manage and develop onsite team of direct report Construction Managers (both Full Time Employees and Contingent Workers) and matrixed reports specializing in Safety, Quality, Project Controls (Cost & Schedule)

  5. Support project contract negotiations (initial and change orders) for General Contractor, trade partner and consultant scopes

  6. Assist with providing capital project budgets and provide ROM construction cost estimates along with managing CapEx and OpEx budgets

  7. Manage cross functional team for Owner Furnished Equipment procurement and delivery process

  8. Manage biweekly risk identification review process and provide report (financial, schedule, Q/C)

  9. Manage Knowledge capture and transfer at the program and campus level

  10. Manage General Contractor relationship at the campus level to include GC personnel development and succession

  11. Manage initiatives focused on leveraging improved predictability or capacity from supply chain

  12. 75% travel to new campus locations

  13. Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar degree

  2. 15+ years experience in construction and project planning

  3. Experience with ground-up construction and greenfield site development requirements

  4. Experience in construction management, capital budget management, and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

  5. Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations

  6. Negotiation experience and experience providing solutions to complex problems under pressure

  7. Experience with MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  1. Overall understanding of building systems including mechanical, electrical, building management system, and fire protection in a datacenter environment

  2. Knowledge of CPM scheduling methodologies and familiarity with Primavera P6

  3. Datacenter development and construction experience

  4. Familiarity with retrofit projects in live data center or other mission critical buildings, including development of Methods of Procedure (MOPs)

  5. Procore software experience
