Job Title: Roadway EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Roadway Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for roadway geometric design and modeling, preparing detailed construction plans and contract documents, and coordinating with regulatory agencies, utility companies, and subconsultants. The candidate will work closely with a team of engineers and designers, manage project budgets and schedules, and attend client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway geometric design and modeling.

• Prepare detailed construction plans and contract documents.

• Prepare and check design computations, design plans, and quantity estimates.

• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, utility companies, and subconsultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements.

• Coordinate the design of projects with a team of engineers and designers.

• Manage project budgets and schedules.

• Attend client meetings.

• Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

• At least 4 years of roadway design or similar experience.

• Iowa Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Proficient with MicroStation and GeoPak Civil Engineering Suite including Open Roads.

• Proficient in horizontal and vertical roadway geometrics and experience in developing and manipulating roadway corridor models.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Strong oral communication and technical writing skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with IDOT.

• Project management experience and skills.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work two days in the office and three days remote. You can report to the following offices: Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, or Iowa City. The company is recognized for its outstanding compensation, benefits, and work-life balance.
