Corteva Agriscience is searching for a Solution Architect/Product Family Architect (PFA) - Learn how you can be our voice in the conversation about the future of agriculture.

The Product Family Architect (PFA) – North America , acts as an owner and coordinator of the architecture design, technical strategy, and operational standards across the North American Product Family. Because of this scale and complexity, the PFA has additional duties above a typical Solution Architect to work closely with the IT Product Owner and Product Line Architect on new and existing technical and business demand. They work in team-based environments to understand business requirements and design North American centric custom and SaaS solutions.

Primary Skills and Behaviors

Business IQ: broad knowledge and understanding of the Product Family business domain and IT implications; growing knowledge of the business capabilities and outcomes for their product family

Technical IQ: cloud computing principles with specialization on the Azure technology stack; broad knowledge of solution architecture items such as application, data, integration, etc.; growing knowledge of the technologies and services for their product family

Domain IQ: knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles, processes, and frameworks; software development lifecycle (SDLC); security and compliance principles and standards

Strategic partnering: building credibility, leading by influence and partnerships across the organization

Communications: excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow

  • Act as technical visionary and strategist for Corteva’s North America product family and interfacing applications by working with other Solution Architects and Software Engineering Leads.

  • Proven ability to integrate with external software organizations.

  • Exhibits technical leadership by setting technical roadmap for the team and product.

  • Ensures defined architecture and technology roadmap aligns with enterprise standards.

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to the IT Product Owner in translating business strategies into actionable technical roadmaps and project plans, influencing Product Architecture.

  • Creates and maintains architectural design documentation in line with Enterprise Architecture best practices and Corteva’s business objectives and product vision.

  • Demonstrates an ability to break down product requirements into technical projects and tasks.

  • Provides thought leadership on architecture, scalability and system design and contributes to engineering-wide or cross product systems and projects.

  • Designs user-focused and innovative solutions involving a mixture of custom and packaged systems.

  • Partners with Security and Privacy team to ensure solutions are configured with best practices in mind.

  • Identifies risks or issues with technical solution and design which may impact realization of project benefits and provides guidance and support to stakeholders to mitigate potential risks to the project.

  • Frequently guides Software Engineers and Lead Engineers to better technical solutions.

  • Highly skilled at mentoring others on how to properly scope projects.

  • Leads planning and execution of technical lifecycle within the North America Product Family with IT Product Owners, Solution Architects and Software Engineering Leads.

  • Engages with Business Product Owners and the IT Business Relationship Managers on new demand request reviews, technical solutions/evaluations and POC needs for the Product Family.

  • Design user focused and innovative solutions involving creation of complex data models, external integration, business process automation and custom functionality to solve business requirements.

  • Ensures alignment of product roadmaps through Product Owners and Solution Architects; includes alignment with Corteva technology roadmaps and product family portfolios.

  • Engages with teams and vendors on solution evaluations (SaaS and non-SaaS) and purchase recommendations.

  • Enables Product Family teams by guiding new solutions (purchased and developed) for the Product Family through Enterprise Architecture, Privacy, and Security reviews.

  • Works on behalf of Corteva Security organization to drive new process and standards into the North America Product Family and ensure solutions are configured with security best practices in mind.

  • Owns the North America Product Family solution and technology “tool kit”.

  • Works with Solution Architects and Software Engineering Leads to optimize and standardize the North America Product Family tools and technologies in alignment with Enterprise Architectural strategy.

  • Mentors North America Product Family Solution Architects and Software Engineering Leads where appropriate.

  • Brings ideas from Engineering Community and industry to the Solution Architects and Software Engineering Leads for evaluation and implementation, shares contributions back to the Engineering Community.

  • Works with peers and IT management to develop and maintain policies, standards, guidelines (guiding principles), reference architectures / patterns, decision frameworks and metrics to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the Product Family.

Qualifications

Requirements – What you'll bring to the table

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

  • 7+ years Software Engineering experience.

  • 3+ years Solution Architect experience

Position Requirements

  • Demonstrates technical expertise with full-stack development, data management and cloud infrastructure.

  • Understanding of mobile solution design.

  • Experience designing solutions in a cloud-first environment.

  • Experience developing RESTful API’s with C# or comparable server-side language.

  • Strong knowledge of RDMS such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server and no-SQL DBs such as Cosmos or MongoDB.

  • Experience with various authentication implementations such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect.

  • Knowledge of micro-services.

  • Experience with data migrations and integrations with enterprise-level applications.

  • Experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud stack and using its components in building scalable and reliable software.

  • Familiar with web UI frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Vue.

  • Familiar with mobile frameworks such as Xamarin, React Native, and Flutter.

  • Familiar with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.

  • Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
