The Technical Support Engineer provides expert support forDanfoss Drives customers in cases of mid to high complexity.Job Responsibilities Provide technical support to Danfoss Drives customers, primarilyvia phone and emailProvide expert support on higher complex casesDiagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve complexissues with higher horse power applications, fieldbus, common DC bus, drive and motor theoryCooperate with engineering teams in cases of support, commissioning, and service.Identify quality issues, collect data, and report.Lead in the process of failure analysis and root cause identification as required.Support equipment repair process and advise service technicians on test procedures, spare parts, etc.Conduct equipment repair according to defined process.Provide formal service reports and develop repair/service instructions.Handle post-sales queries/claims in case management system.Own reported customer critical technical issues and follow through to resolution.Serve as back up for Level 1 support during high call volume periods (expectedDevelop and maintain a proficient level of product, service, application, drive and motor theory, and industry-related knowledge.Support the 24/7 emergency support line when scheduled.Background and Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field), or a combinationof an Associate degree and demonstrable equivalent experience in the drive and/or power electronics industry.Minimum3 years of relevant service and/or application experience in the Drives, Power Electronics or Automation industry.A solid understanding of essential electric theory principles such as resistance, impedance, capacitance, inductance, electromagnetism, power, etc, as well as three phase systems and AC motors.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics of varying levels of complexity.Ability to proficiently use basic test equipment (digital multimeters and oscilloscopes).Experiencewith PLCs and building management systems.Experience working with fieldbus communication protocols (i.e.: BACnet, Modbus, EthernetIP, Profibus, Profinet, etc.).Highly tech-savvy.Strong analytical mindset, with well cemented planning and self-learning skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Customer and service-oriented attitude.Proactive mindset and good team player.Ability to work independently and bring tasks/projects to successful completion without supervision.Highly organized, high degree of self-motivation and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and time demands effectively.Service and application experience on Danfoss/Vacon drives is highly desirable.SAP and Salesforce background is a plus.Able to travel when required (Ability to communicate in French or Spanish is a plus.Danfoss - Engineering Tomorrow At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
