We have a great team of qualified professionals and are adding a Designer/PM to our team, to support all types of customers. If you have fire protection experience in one particular market area but looking to expand your skills by working on larger more complex projects - we would love to talk with you! We support Fire Suppression Systems design/installation and services for Energy, Educational, Healthcare, Retail, Sports Facilities/Entertainment, High Rise offices, manufacturing, casinos and residential customers. Our collaborative team of designers/PM's support work in various regions throughout the Central United Sates and support Fire suppression design, installation, 3D design, Design/Build, alarm/detection, service and inspection. We are looking for an experienced designer with at least a few years of experience that knows how to read construction drawings, prepare fire protection installation drawings and hydraulic calculations, prepare material stocklists, visit the construction jobsites to review actual field conditions, and troubleshoot installation conflicts in the field.

The locations of our position needs are based in our offices in the following locations: Omaha, NE, Des Moines, IA, and Davenport, IA. Relocation is offered for this position.
Design fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and foam fire sprinkler systems
Perform detailed shop drawings (field installation drawings and hydraulic calculations), field engineering functions (on the jobsite support and review), and operation planning (field installation support)
Compile and prepare plan submittals (shop drawings) and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction
Coordinate fire sprinkler design with the building structure and other MEP subcontractors
Prepare project material stocklists to be used for material procurement
Assist with Field engineering troubleshooting and support for the installation operations on the jobsite
Prepare “as-built” drawings for in-house archive and client files.
General understanding of job costs related to engineering, material and fabrication, and labor
Associates degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related degree is preferred, but 6+ years of experience in design and construction in lieu of degree will be considered.
2+ years fire sprinkler design experience for construction is required
Experienced with AutoSPRINK, HydroCAD, or SprinkCAD preferred
NICET certification strongly preferred
Experienced with MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD preferred
High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Team player, but able to work independently; Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
