Work in Iowa Construction Jobs

Job Information

Aerotek General Laborer in Grimes, Iowa

Duties are to lay out materials according to site plans (the plans are about as complex as assembling IKEA furniture) and then handing them to the actual erectors to do the assembly. After the contract portion is over, you will then move into the erector role; so you must not be afraid of heights. When doing erection all PPE will be provided by client (safety harness, hard hat, etc)

While working in the shop you will be unloading and organizing materials and learning about what pieces go where and do what. Will also be unloading truck deliveries of material and pulling orders to deploy to job sites. You will do a lot of learning about the product during this time. The owner, or a lead worker will be walking you through the products, explaining how they work/connect/what purpose they serve. They expect you to be able to take the information and remember it for the next time. If they continuously have to explain to someone what piece goes where or does what, they won't work out. Need to be engaged and have good active listening skills.
