Crystal Group Electrical Engineer in Hiawatha, Iowa
Summary:Our engineers serve as a technical resource, for our customers and our sales team. They are involved in all phases of product sales and installation. This position is responsible for the design, development and verification of wire harnesses, electronic assemblies and computer systems.
Maintains an extensive working knowledge of the Crystal Group’s electrical design tools for efficient conversion of technical requirements into schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and circuit card assembly drawings
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking on several projects simultaneously
The ability to assemble and rework electronic assemblies
The ability to test and verify design requirements using lab equipment such as power supply, oscilloscope, network analyzer, etc.
Maintains an extensive understanding of electrical component manufacture, fabrication, and assembly processes.
The ability to think mechanically as well as electrically with regard to packaging techniques applied to high performance electronics for use in harsh and demanding environments.
Maintains a working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the design field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Ensures designs are producible and error free.
Recommends the proper procedures, processes, templates, and tools to correctly perform the task assigned.
Provides concise and well-thought-out input on technological opportunities worthy of organization investment and will assist with establishing capital plans, project schedules, and budgets for the Engineering department.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Two to five years engineering experience in related field. Experience with printed circuit design and layout, skills and knowledge with systems integration.
Physical: This is mainly a desk position. The person performing this work must be able to sit, stand and bend at various times while lifting and reviewing the computer hardware items. Ability to inspect products and effectively use the computer on a daily basis is needed.
Miscellaneous: Ability to use various software programs related to engineering (Altium Designer, AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SPICE). Must be able to demonstrate experience in multitasking to meet several simultaneous project milestones up to and including completion of several projects. Works well both independently and in a team environment and is willing to change priorities as needed.
