Crystal Group Manufacturing Electrical Engineer in Hiawatha, Iowa
This position is responsible for the manufacturability and testing of electrical based designs and assemblies, development, and verification of custom electrical assemblies and interconnects. The position involves understanding and fine tuning of mixed signal printed circuit boards (PCBs) containing high speed digital circuitry, embedded systems, power conversion, and/or related technologies, as well as associated chassis and interface wiring design.Duties:
Create and maintain test fixtures and processes for electrical based components and assemblies.
Maintains an extensive working knowledge of the Crystal Group’s electrical design tools for efficient conversion of technical requirements into schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and circuit card assembly drawings.
Maintains an extensive understanding of electrical component manufacture, fabrication, and assembly processes.
Maintains a working knowledge of packaging techniques applied to high performance electronics for use in harsh and demanding environments.
Maintains a working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the design field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Ensures designs are producible and error free.
Recommends the proper procedures, processes, templates, and tools to correctly perform the task assigned.
Supports the Technical Directors in capturing, refining, and addressing customer requirements via the POTS system.
Provides technical assistance for the Pilot Line build and testing of new products and systems.
Provides component-level review and in-depth troubleshooting support for product in Manufacturing and Technical Services as well as Sales department assistance.
Reviews electrical drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards, as assigned.
Complies with safety, quality, and ESD guidelines.
Requires:Education: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Electrical Engineering, or related field. 5 - 10 years of experience in related field in lieu of a degree.Experience: One to five years engineering experience in related field. Experience with electrical based components and assemblies, skills and knowledge with systems integration.Physical: This is mostly a desk position, but some time is spent on the manufacturing floor debugging issues. The person performing this work must be able to sit, stand and bend at various times while lifting and reviewing the computer hardware items. Ability to inspect products and effectively use the computer on a daily basis is needed.Miscellaneous: Ability to use various software programs related to engineering theory (Altium Designer, AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD). Must be able to demonstrate experience in multitasking to meet several simultaneous project milestones up to and including completion of several projects. Works well both independently and in a team environment and is willing to change priorities as needed. Ability to read and write code as needed (Python, C, Labview). Working knowledge with electrical test equipment (voltage source, digital loads, oscilloscope, multimeters, soldering).
