CBRE | Heery seeks an Architectural Designer II to join their Iowa City Studio. The Iowa City Studio focuses on healthcare projects in an interactive and collaborative environment. Projects range from small renovations to complex expansions to new construction throughout the country.
Working primarily in Revit, the Architectural Designer II is responsible for daily design or technical development of projects under the supervision of a licensed architect.
Prepare 2D and 3D design materials.
Develops solutions to technical and design problems.
Performs product research; assists project designers and project architects with material selection and system research.
Works with the project architect to develop production drawings.
Assists with construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, material submittals, on-site inspections, etc.
Reviews project documents; coordinates with other design disciplines.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.
Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.Arch) or Master's Degree (M.Arch) from four-year college or university.
Minimum 6 to 9 years’ experience required. Experience on healthcare related projects is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Revit is required
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and client groups to take desired action.
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
