Join our team of engineers and contribute to the design of projects in the markets we serve. Although your initial work will be in higher education, you will have the opportunity for diverse work spanning the industrial, healthcare, k-12, commercial, and government sectors. You'll play a pivotal role in preparing AutoCAD drawings, reports, construction cost opinions, and technical specifications.

Design responsibilities will encompass a wide range of types, from roadway and parking lot design to site grading, and storm water management. It will also include design of utilities that are the life blood of a thriving campus such as sanitary,water, steam, chilled water, electrical and telecom distribution systems.

Additionally, you'll be involved in designing construction phasing, traffic control, and other site design components. As part of our commitment to excellence, you'll assist in onsite construction administration and observation, ensuring contractor compliance with contract documents and learning how your designs are constructed.

This role offers invaluable hands-on experience essential for licensure, providing a solid foundation for your professional journey.

Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited engineering school, equipped with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hands-on experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are paramount, along with a demonstrated commitment to client service.

Previous internships or summer experiences in general civil engineering or construction would be advantageous.

Candidates should have either passed or be scheduled to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam to obtain official Engineering Intern designation by the State of Iowa.
