Our focus on delivering a quality product with attention to safety, integrity and customer satisfaction has driven our success.Overview:TelCom Construction is looking for motivated employees to join our team!We are currently hiring for full-time Construction Laborersto work throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.Laborer duties will include general labor duties related to telecommunications constructionas directed by the Foreman/Supervisor.Responsibilities:All phases of underground construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipmentHand dig using shovel, mechanical toolsInstall and maintenance of underground telecommunications cablingOperate or work around heavy equipment and machineryWorking in congested or remote areasMaintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movementPerform general construction work under direction of Foreman/SupervisorFlagging, property or worksite restorationMaintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policiesSetting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging trafficQualifications:Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving recordBasic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe mannerBasic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe mannerAbility to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this positionMay be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as needed to ensure work is completedTravel may be requiredPreferred Qualifications:Class A Commercial Driver's License (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders)6 months of experience in the utility construction industryAbility to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilitiesPhysical Requirements:Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)Must be able to lift/carry50 lbs regularly and up to100 LBS as neededwith or without assistanceDuties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
