Monsanto Electrical Project Engineer Co-Op (Muscatine, IA) in MUSCATINE, Iowa
The Muscatine location is located five miles South of Muscatine, Iowa, along the Mississippi River, and manufactures a wide variety of crop protection products, including Roundup®, the world's best-selling herbicide. The Muscatine plant continues to be a world class chemical manufacturing facility recognized for its quality products.
Engineering Co-ops will apply engineering and safety principles in a manufacturing environment with responsibilities consisting of the application of engineering knowledge to projects within the facility.
The six-month co-op assignment will be completed during the Spring 2019 semester (January-June).
Duties will include preparing design, installation and start-up of automatic process control, material handling, and distributive control systems. The Co-op will also gain experience assisting with documentation of the process and equipment to meet compliance with ISO 9002 certification and Process Safety Management regulations. Co-ops will also assist with existing/new projects in design, equipment selection, installation, checkout, troubleshooting, and start-up phases. Other responsibilities could include project development, electrical control drawing approval, programming controller specifications, software development and training.
Students must be currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S Electrical Engineering degree program and have completed the sophomore year at the time of application
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Prior Co-op or internship experience is a plus
In addition to current enrollment and GPA requirements listed above, co-ops must:
Relocate to Muscatine, Iowa for the duration of the term (January-June of 2019)
Return to school upon completion of their co-op term to continue their program of study
