RR Donnelley Shipping and Receiving / Forklift Operator in Osage, Iowa

Hoist Operator – Monday-Friday | 7am-3pm

RR Donnelley Osage Label is a narrow web printing, distribution, warehouse and fulfillment center under one roof. Osage produces lithographic and flexographic printed pressure sensitive label and forms products for the short, medium and long run length markets.

In addition to the equipment and expertise to produce a wide range of labels and forms construction, the Osage Team provides imaging, printing, distribution and warehousing capabilities supported by 55.000 sq. ft. of racked finished good storage capacity.

This posting is for a 1st shift Hoist Operator position.

Job Function:

  • Drive forklift equipped with lifting devices such as a forklift, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move raw paper materials, in-process products, finished products, equipment or materials in warehouse, storage yard or factory.

  • May load and unload semi-trailer trucks.

  • Receive inbound raw materials and store in warehouse, complete necessary paper/computer work for materials received, replenish/stock manufacturing area with materials, pull finished goods from production floor and place in appropriate areas throughout the warehouse and shipping department

  • Maintain accurate inventory and report any discrepancies.

  • May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or liftin device.

  • Perform safety checks on lift equipment.

  • May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank.

  • Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving forklift or clamp truck through aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operator controls.

  • Must know how high, wide and long the forklift and its load are, and how much the forklift can lift.

  • Good ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the forklift and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin.

  • Must be able to recognize whether the forklift is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced.

  • Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions

  • Experience in warehouse and/or manufacturing environment

  • Ability to communicate in English – Read, write, speak

  • Job requires ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.

  • Continuous standing and walking around the facility.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.50 - $17.50 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficient, performance, shift, and location. In addition to the base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call-in and stand-by pay.
