Your Responsibilities

As a Electrical Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, Iowa, you wil s upport new product development for Baling & Mowing Products, In addition, you will...

  • Analyze new product designs and electrical architecture to determine manufacturing testing and programming requirements

  • Develops and implements hardware and software required for testing new products and manufacturing processes

  • Facilitates cross-functional meetings with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Factory Automation to identify, document, and track component and system testing requirements

  • Monitor and track product electrical hardware and software updates to ensure compatibility with testing and programming plans

  • Develops product testing validation plans to support experimental and PDP builds

  • Works in several databases to confirm product order and option sets are correct for PDP builds

  • Support AFE capital estimates by developing accurate programming equipment, testing equipment, and facility updates required for new products and processes

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)

  • 4 year Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Software systems, or other degree with relevant experience

  • 3+ years of manufacturing shop floor experience

  • 2+ years of experience with problem solving and working in a team environment

  • 2+ years of experience working with vehicle electrical or test system software

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)

  • Experience with electrical product testing and programming equipment (i.e. test stands, software programming, controller programming, GFPT, SmartTest, PLC, etc.)

  • Experience with vehicle electrical systems

  • Experience with tooling design

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (JDAAT)

  • Work experience in a union environment

  • Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Four year Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Software systems, or other degree with relevant experience
