Position Title: Application Estimator
Reports To: Engineering Supervisor
Provide assistance to customers and other company personnel in the application of company products by applying routine engineering and pricing practices and techniques in assigned areas .
The role of Cost Estimator will be effectively fulfilled by completing the following duties to safety, quality, productivity and collaboration expectations:
Establish material and labor costs using information supplied by other departments and contact vendors for pricing when necessary.
Format and provide quote information to customers.
Follow up on status of quotes to insure that price and delivery information was provided to customer when required.
Keep sales personnel informed about major quotations, pending projects and other quote opportunities.
Provide accurate technical quotations to customer quote requests in technically precise terms through use of various programs, spread sheets and other quoting tools.
Collaborate with drafting, quality control, manufacturing and production planning to help ensure corporate, department and individual objectives are satisfactorily completed.
Make technical judgments as necessary for the application of company products.
Provide support to Quality Control when necessary.
Adhere to ISO 9001 Standards- apply company procedures to sustain ISO 9001 Certification
Complete projects and other duties assigned by Engineering Supervisor.
Adhere to company Ethics and Environmental Programs.
Education & Experience:
Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related degree. A minimum of a two year degree/Associates of Science and 1-2 years’ experience or equivalent.
Experience in a work setting that would prepare candidate facilitating all phases of research and development collaboratively with internal and external team members.
Experience in applying mechanical and technical knowledge in a work setting.
Experience documenting, organizing and maintaining accurate design data records.
Skills and Talents:
Demonstrating mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Solidworks experience for modeling and drafting.
Completing daily work on time to quality specifications while maintaining progress on projects.
Completing daily work and projects with minimal supervision.
Facilitating all phases of research and development collaboratively with internal and external team members.
Collaborating with production leadership to resolve safety, quality and productivity issues.
Presenting self and company in a competent manner through written, verbal and non-verbal communication.
Maintaining motivation of self, subordinates and team members.
Documenting, organizing and maintaining accurate design data records.
Speaking and understanding a second language, including technical terms, is preferred but not mandated.
