Work Shift:

1ST SHIFT (United States of America)

SUMMARY: As an Industrial Engineer Summer Intern, you will be assigned projects by the plant Industrial Engineer on planning strategies to initiate and implement projects to control plant costs, developing and maintaining engineering labor standards, maximizing labor resource effectiveness, etc. This position will learn to use continuous improvement tools to achieve plant goals. Other duties may include assisting in the implementation of automation, providing information for managerial decision making, supplying support for ergonomics program and any other responsibilities as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university. Students seeking a degree Industrial Engineering or other technical degree are preferred. Must be a Junior or Senior in a full-time undergraduate program.

Experience: Knowledge/experience in related field preferred.

Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, knowledge and exposure to engineering related computer systems. Must be proficient in MS office.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Travel: May travel 3 to 4 trips to another facility or Tyson Corporate.

Position Specific Requirements: This is a 10-12 week internship and is tentatively scheduled to start middle May and end middle August. Must be enrolled in a college or university with degree-seeking status. Housing assistance is available for qualified candidates.
