Cedar Valley Corp., LLC, headquartered at 2637 Wagner Road, Waterloo, Iowa, 50703 phone number: +1 319-235-9537, is looking to fill six (6) Construction Laborer positions from 04/01/2024 to 11/30/2024. This for full-time, seasonal temporary employment. Duties include: general labor on concrete or grade crew. Performs a variety of routine, non-machine manual labor tasks such as handling steel, puddling concrete, loading and unloading lumber, forms, etc., cleaning of pre- paving and post-paving operations, marking the slab for the saw crew, blowing out sawed joints, placing steel reinforcements, assisting finishers, etc. Digs, spreads and levels grade, gravel, earth and other construction materials and combination of materials using hand tools. Takes initiative when assigned work is complete to help out in other tasks or jobs. Cleans work area, maintains tools and returns them when assignment is complete. Checks with foreman to receive instruction on next days assignment at the end of each day. Must use provided personal protective equipment. Must pass initial post-offer physical. Must pass initial post-offer drug testing. On- the-job training provided where required.

$23.89/hour with overtime available at $35.84/hour, based on hourly rate. 40 hours per week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mon.-Fri. Workers on federal job contracts subject to the Davis Bacon Act may receive higher wages and include fringe benefits. Daily travel to worksites in the area of intended employment is required. The requested temporary workers will be based at 3113 Keokuk Washington Road, Richland, IA 52585, and will service clients within the Iowa City, IA MSA, including Washington County.

Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is weekly. Employer will make all deductions from workers paycheck as required by law. Transportation, including meals, and to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home tor to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
