Title: Design Engineer-Wiring Harness (50080699) - 77378
As a Design Engineer - Wiring Harness at the John Deere Product Engineering Center (PEC), located in Waterloo, IA, you will work perform basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project while on a team environment. In addition, you will:
Deal with the given and required design spaces and manage the outcome with other design groups; provide input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
Learn and apply company engineering policies and practices; learn company products; develop recommendations within established guidelines (work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation).
Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications; including involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
Compile and furnish necessary information (such as: engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design.
Prioritize and manage delivery of designs according to program schedules
As the lead for a tractor platform, exhibit leadership skill to provide direction to other team members globally to achieve on time delivery

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)
3 or more years of engineering experience or large assembly management in Pro/Engineer / CREO.
Experience in roles that required a working knowledge of fundamental engineering principles (such as: mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, statics, dynamics, and material properties).
Experience with standard computer applications (such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Skype).
What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)
Two or more years of experience working with off-road vehicle engineering, preferably in the Ag or Construction Industry with specialized knowledge about wiring harness routing requirements and failure modes in wiring harness designs.
Experience working with tolerance stack-up studies.
Experience with engineering analysis tools. i.e. FEA, CFD.
Experience working and collaborating in an international team.
Working knowledge of Mentor CHS and Harness XC.
One or more years of project management experience.
Demonstrate good collaboration skills
Experience with electrical circuits and components
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Mechanics
