Description:

Performs preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems in the health system. Works according to diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and manufacturer’s specifications. Patrols buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry. Uses hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

  • Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes

  • Performs preventative maintenance on facility equipment.

  • Performs routine repair work

  • Operates and maintains boiler room

  • Demonstrates competency of building systems

*Hours/Schedule: *

80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)

*Minimum Qualifications: *    

  • Plumber journeyman license within 90 days of hire.

  • Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training within 6 months of hire.

  • Experience sufficient to obtain license or certification in plumbing area. Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
