Title: Landscape Construction Laborer

Status: Seasonal, Full-time

Hourly Wage: $14 - 22 (DOE)

Sign-on Bonus: $750 after 90 days

These services include landscape design and installation, complete tree care, lawn care, seasonal maintenance, a garden center, interior and exterior holiday lights and décor, interior plantscaping, land clearing and mulch. Job Summary:

The Landscape Construction Laborer is responsible for working as a team member under the direct supervision of the Landscape Construction Foreman. You will be responsible for installing landscape and hardscape projects throughout Des Moines and surrounding areas while working in an efficient manner, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibiting pride and quality workmanship.

Essential Duties:

  • Work closely with the foreman and team members.

  • Represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Assist the foreman in maintaining a clean and safe job site.

  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles.

  • Perform physically demanding work including heavy lifting on a daily basis.

  • Understand and meet production and project schedule deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.

  • Attend training classes and educational seminars as requested by management.


  • Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day.

  • Participate in weekly Safety Tailgate meetings and comply with all safety rules and company safety policies.

  • Follows directions from landscape foreman and supervisor.

  • Perform other duties as related or assigned in all service areas of Wright Outdoor Solutions including arbor care, plant health care, exterior maintenance, mowing, holiday lights and snow removal.


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape and hardscape (segment retaining wall and concrete unit paving systems) installation preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of landscape and hardscape installation methods is preferred but not required.

  • Experience installing irrigation systems a plus but not required.

  • Must be punctual and dependable.

  • Must have a positive attitude with a desire to learn.

  • Must be professional in appearance and actions.

  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and quality-driven.

  • Must be well organized with strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and during adverse weather conditions as warranted by workload and schedule.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels.

  • Landscape and Hardscape certifications are a huge plus.

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus.
