GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Project Manager II oversees the planning, implementation and tracking of specific projects; defining the beginning, end and specified deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with management.
Researches and acquires working knowledge of subject matter.
Creates a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
Determines the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
Develops a schedule and detailed timeline for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
Reviews the project schedule with management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revises the schedule as required.
Determines the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion. Executes the project according to the project plan.
Develop forms and records to document project activities.
Sets up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
Leads progression of the project and adjusts as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Establishes a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
Reviews the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
Ensures that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
Evaluates the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
Selects, negotiates with, and manages activities of external consultants or vendors.
Communicates with business users and development teams on project requests.
Supports current systems and any new systems that may be implemented.
Handles more complex issues and assists Project Manager I’s as needed.
Performs other related work as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Reports: 0
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field of study; plus, a minimum of four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
Insurance industry experience a plus.
Experience working on financial and investments based projects
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:
- PMP certification is a plus.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Visio, Microsoft Project and Outlook.
Minimal to no travel is required in this position.
