Kinze Sr. Harness Designer in Williamsburg, Iowa

Produce and maintain 3D design models and technical drawings for new and legacy products. Assist Engineers in the design and development of new product and the maintenance of legacy product. Apply design for manufacturing principles to model and technical drawing creation and maintenance. Coordinate and conduct design/drawing reviews with internal customers. Serve as a project team member.

Electrical Harness and Hydraulic – Assist Electrical and Design Engineers focusing on the design and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems. Routing of electrical harnesses and hydraulic hoses will be included in this focus.

  • Design or improve existing product

  • Determine, recommend and implement product changes.

  • Analyze and oversee development of prototypes

  • Assist in resolving any design issues prior to production release.

  • Create CAD models and drawings of designs.

  • Create and maintain models and drawings to current drafting standards.

  • Coordinate and conduct design/drawing reviews with cross functional team.

  • Provide or assist with engineering change orders.

  • Serve as a project team member assisting in cross functional project meetings.

  • Assist in managing projects.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree, or vocational/technical school degree in the fields of study pertaining to Drafting or Machine Design.

  • At least 5+ years relevant work experience in the area of Mechanical Machine Design or closely related field.

  • Must have experience utilizing 2D & 3D parametric computer modeling software as well as Materials Resource Planning software. Knowledge of casting processes for both ferrous and non-ferrous casting

  • Advanced knowledge of current industry drafting standard and bill of material structures.

  • Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes as well as welding practices and symbols is a must.

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical system

  • Ability to understand and communicate with Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance system

  • Strong mechanical and mathematics skills are required.

  • Able to use basic measuring tools such as calipers are preferred.
